Coal is know to generate soot, mercury that can cause problems for people with asthma and other respiratory conditions. Miners have died due to the cause the effects of coal over the years.

Clean coal technology is the word used for scrubbers that reduce the amount of sulfur dioxide that is released.  Sulfur dioxide or it’s formula SO2 produces smog and acid rain,  this is why it one of the major concerns for the environment.
